Build Your English and Your Dublin Experience
Ireland allows eligible language students to combine study with limited employment. Here is a clear guide to Stamp 2 work conditions, class schedules and Academic Bridge job-readiness support.
Work permission begins with a valid Stamp 2
Eligible non-EEA students on an approved 25-week programme may be granted Stamp 2 permission. Employment is not automatic at enrolment and is not guaranteed by the college.
20 hours per week
Work part-time around your classes once your valid Stamp 2 permission allows it. Your employment must not interfere with attendance.
40 hours per week
The 40-hour concession applies during June, July, August and September, and from 15 December to 15 January.
€14.15 per hour
The national minimum wage for workers aged 20 and over is €14.15. Statutory lower rates apply at ages 18 and 19.
Full worker rights
Employees are entitled to written terms, legal pay, payslips, work breaks, annual leave and public-holiday benefits.
Choose a class time that fits your real work pattern
Different jobs need staff at different times, so the best schedule depends on your actual shifts. Talk to an advisor when you enrol to confirm availability and match your class time sensibly.
