There are two versions: Academic – for students aiming to study at universities, and General – for those migrating to English-speaking countries.

Who Can Take The IELTS Exam?

What’s In The IELTS Exam?
The IELTS exam is designed to be fair and accessible to learners of all nationalities and language backgrounds. It assesses your ability to communicate effectively in English across the four key skills:
Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.In addition, the exam evaluates your grammar and vocabulary to ensure a well-rounded measure of your language proficiency.
Listening
You will listen to four recorded texts, including monologues and conversations featuring a variety of native English speakers. Based on what you hear, you’ll answer a series of questions designed to test your understanding of the content, context, and meaning.
Reading And Writing
The reading component includes 40 questions designed to assess a broad range of reading skills. These skills include:
Reading for gist and main ideas
Reading for specific details
Skimming
Understanding logical arguments
Recognising writers’ opinions, attitudes, and purpose
A variety of question types are used to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of your reading abilities.
Speaking
The Speaking component evaluates your ability to communicate effectively in spoken English and lasts between 11 and 14 minutes. It is designed to be natural and spontaneous, meaning you won’t be able to rely on memorized answers.At Academic Bridge, you’ll have dedicated classroom time to practice fluency, build confidence, and improve your ability to respond to a variety of real-world topics and questions.
Writing
The Writing component consists of two tasks, both based on topics of general interest. These tasks are designed to assess your ability to organize ideas, present arguments clearly, and use appropriate grammar and vocabulary in written English.At Academic Bridge, we provide structured guidance and practice to help you develop strong writing skills for both academic and everyday communication.
